Websites

The website is the beating heart of a project because it is the image it offers to the world. A carefully crafted, beautiful, useful, complete and usable website will best perform the task for which it was conceived and realised: communicating a reality and its contents, showing its strengths and enhancing its potential.

For our customers we create tailor-made, tailor-made ‘tailor-made’ sites, dedicating energy and attention to understanding communication needs and their context. In this way, we can dedicate ourselves to designing unique digital objects. We do not use pre-packaged solutions and always start from a blank page: we are convinced that each project has its own identity and inner strength. Let it shine, then!

Websites: the main steps

1

The design of a website begins with an interview where the salient points of the project emerge. These aspects are always placed in relation to other online sites: how do competitors and similar realities fare? In what does the project we are building excel? In what can we make a difference?
Depending on the nature of the site, this phase may be more or less long and elaborate, but the point of arrival is always the same: to have clear coordinates of the project and thus draw its perimeter

2

One begins to design the site by creating a logical and abstract version, consisting of screen templates (templates) and analysis of the information to be represented. You set up the content types, the relationships between the sections of the site, the characteristics of sitewide elements such as header, menu and footer, and finally, you imagine the contents of the homepage. We call this step – fundamental – Information Architecture

3

The time comes for the graphic design: the architecture of the site is dressed with fonts, colours and images. Typographic grids are designed. Layout and navigation experience (UX) are imagined, starting with a smartphone use (mobile first) and then moving on to the classic display on large screens (desktop). In this phase we listen to our clients’ suggestions, scan the web and have fun creating innovative, dynamic, elegant designs with the right personality. This phase ends with graphics showing how the website will look when it is realised. If we were architects, it would be rendering time.

4

Once the graphics have been approved, we start building the actual website. We are very attached to the WordPress CMS and usually like to develop original themes for this environment by programming directly in PHP, Javascript and CSS. We also devote a lot of attention to the development of the site’s control panel: all our customers can update content independently if they wish, precisely because we build user-friendly machines at this stage.

5

Once the site is built, it is ready to be populated with real content and go through the final stages of testing. We have a detailed checklist that makes our testing really meticulous. Once this final step is complete, all that remains is to click the launch button and go online!
